The quick version: tailgating is a marathon, not a sprint. It's hours in the sun, an early start, and a long runway before kickoff — so hydration and pacing matter more here than almost anywhere else.
The gear
- Cooler, canopy for shade, chairs, and a folding table
- Grill, fuel, and easy crowd food
- Way more water than you think — heat and alcohol are a rough combo
- Trash bags and wipes for a clean pack-out
Timing and pacing
You started at 9am and kickoff is at 3:30. That's the trap. Alternate every drink with water, eat steadily through the day, and stay in the shade when you can. Heat accelerates dehydration, which is a big part of what makes a hangover worse.
Start the day right
Sip a Gush before the first beer of the day. On a long tailgate, giving your body a head start on processing alcohol is the difference between a great night and a wasted Sunday. The full prevention guide.
